Since 2018, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) through the Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (CCFN) has sponsored the Vaccine Network for Disease Control on the Global Action Towards Epidemic control in Sub-national units in Nigeria (4GATES) project to provide comprehensive HIV care and treatment services in Warri, Delta State. Our activities cover local governments across Delta State; and our team works hand-in-hand with community volunteers to penetrate hard-to-reach communities.
This project is aimed at reaching the most vulnerable people, providing both financial and health assistance to people living with HIV.
It is our responsibility as partners to identify people living with HIV within our allocated Local Governments, and ensure they have access to Health Care Centers and provide them with financial support.
Our activity is guided by 4GATES thematic areas, which are;
- Care and Support
- Household Economic Strengthening
- Education
- protection
Through these thematic areas we are not just providing temporary support to people living with HIV, but also helping them live healthy and financially stable lives.
Our work involves 43 community volunteers with presence in 5 LGA’s in Delta State, providing care and support to 2,326 households.
