The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak is in global proportions. It has widened the pool of indigents; throwing more people below the poverty line and deepening those already poor into abject poverty. The Vaccine Network for Disease Control in collaboration with the Social Development Secretariat of the FCT and other partners shared palliatives to caregivers, orphans and vulnerable families.
Cash transfers were also made to support the poor and vulnerable during these trying times. This approach introduced simple technology, as most of the transfers were done digitally.
