In collaboration with the Business and Professional Women in Nigeria (BPW), we were able to de-worm 1000 children in Damangaza (an urban slum at the heart of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Nigeria). We have been working in this community for over 5 years. We practically adopted the community; ensuring that we empower the people to make demands on basic amenities which they have rights to. We have taken so many developmental interventions to the community as well as meeting urgent needs as identified alongside. We installed 2 boreholes in the community in order to provide clean water and curb water borne-diseases as they were drinking from dirty stream and children were dying as a result. We sensitized and mobilized for vaccine uptake and enrolled their children in school amongst many other things.
