Women of Influence Creating Demand for Vaccines
In 2017, Vaccine Network for Disease Control launched her Women of Influence; an initiative to address the issues of low immunization coverage in Nigeria, non inclusion of women in immunization programs (especially as they are the caregivers) and isolation of immunization programs from other community-based interventions.
We considered women to be direct factors of immunization and decided to raise a pool of well respected, vocal and agile community women who were trained and educated on immunization and advocacy to increase the demand for immunization and contribution of states towards immunization financing. These women included health workers at Primary Health Care Centers, State First Ladies, Female Parliamentarian.
Vaccine Network for Disease Control is a Non-Profit Organization determined to leave a unique footprint in the lives of the under served through community and advocacy approaches that meet their health and developmental needs.
